# Implied Value

> A company's live implied valuation, derived from its markets.

A `prediction-implied-value` message carries a company's implied valuation — the
reading derived from activity across that company's valuation markets.

This is the output of SOAR's pricing oracle rather than raw order flow. Where
[tickers](/websockets/market-ticker) tell you the price of one threshold,
implied value tells you what the market collectively thinks the company is
worth.

## Subscribe

This one is on the `market` target, keyed by company — not `event-market`.

```json theme={null}
{"type":"subscribe","data":{"targets":[{"target":"market","data":{"symbol":"ANTHROPIC"}}]}}
```

Public. No credential required.

<Warning>
  Subscribing to a company's individual markets via `event-market` does **not**
  deliver implied value, and subscribing to `market` does not deliver trades or
  order books. They are separate id spaces. Subscribe to both if you need both.
</Warning>

## Fields

| Field | Type | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `type` | string | Always `"prediction-implied-value"` |
| `projectMarketId` | string | UUID of the company's market. Same id as `marketId` elsewhere in the API |
| `category` | string | The valuation category this reading applies to |
| `impliedValue` | number | The implied valuation |
| `confidence` | number | How much weight to put on this reading |
| `ts` | number | Unix timestamp in **nanoseconds** |

## Example

```json theme={null}
{
  "type": "market-update",
  "data": {
    "type": "prediction-implied-value",
    "projectMarketId": "2c8e5a17-9b3d-4f6a-8c1e-7d2b5a9f3e04",
    "category": "valuation",
    "impliedValue": 412000000000,
    "confidence": 0.87,
    "ts": 1789238400123456789
  }
}
```

## Notes

* `impliedValue` and `confidence` are the only numeric fields on the socket that
  are **not** integer cents. `impliedValue` is a valuation figure and
  `confidence` is a fraction.
* Confidence falls when the underlying markets are thin or their prices
  disagree. A low-confidence reading is still published — it is your decision
  whether to display or act on it, so check `confidence` before treating a
  value as meaningful.
* Readings are published as the oracle recomputes them, which is driven by
  trading activity. A company with no recent activity will not emit.
